National Council of Jewish Women Welcomes Nation’s First National Gender Strategy

WASHINGTON – National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) CEO Sheila Katz issued the following statement today in response to the release of the Biden-Harris Administration’s first-ever national gender strategy. 

“Today the White House released our nation’s first ever National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality, a valuable roadmap to help the United States build a world in which all people, including women and girls, are treated with dignity and have equal opportunity.

“The Strategy lays out 10 intersectional priorities that center the needs of women and girls from all backgrounds, particularly Black, Indigenous, LGTBQ+, immigrants, and those with disabilities — groups that have historically been marginalized and excluded from decision making. This groundbreaking agenda recognizes that gender equity and racial justice touch every aspect of society, from climate change to health care, including access to abortion. 

“NCJW helped inform the National Strategy and we look forward to our continued partnership with the White House Gender Policy Council to make this bold roadmap a reality for women and girls across the country.”
