2024 Day at the Capitol

As we have done for a number of years, NCJW Colorado is hosting our annual Day at the Capitol (DATC) on Thursday, March 28, 2024, and invite all members (and guests) to register and join us to have breakfast with and meet our state legislators, see them in action, and advocate for our important causes. This year’s DATC will be held at the State Capitol on March 28, 2024 from 7:30 am until 12:00 noon, followed by a short debriefing and gathering for lunch for those who are interested.

Starting at 7:30 am, we will meet for a cold breakfast buffet with our state legislators in the West Foyer of the Capitol, followed by a convocation in and brief visit to the House Chambers. We will then convene to hear from our sponsors and enjoy a discussion and guidance on advocacy for the day. For the remainder of the morning, we will experience the true advocacy framework by gathering in the anteroom and calling our assigned representatives and senators out of session to discuss discuss briefly the issues that are important to us and our mission. Finally, at noon, DATC will adjourn and those of us who want, will gather for lunch and a debriefing of the morning. Everyone will be responsible for their own lunch. There is no cost to attend this event.

About a week prior to the event, to prepare for the event, we will have a zoom meeting to discuss advocacy at the Capitol. Everyone will be assigned a group according to their Senate and House districts. We will use breakout rooms for people to meet each other and discuss the bills we are advocating for or against.
