Dinner and Discussion on Period End of Sentence

“A period should end a sentence, not a girl’s education.” 
Join NCJW Colorado July 26th at 6pm in Frisco for an evening of connection and discussion about the topics found in Period. End of Sentence. by Anita Diamante and the Academy Award winning documentary of the same name inspired by the Oakwood School project led by Melissa Berton who will join us! A light dinner will be served.
We will talk about the cultural and historical incidents of “period shaming” as well as the importance of easy and respectful access to menstrual products for all who menstruate.  No need to read the book — we’ll be discussing topics so everyone can participate!
Speakers to include Melissa Berton (discussed above),  Brianne Snow, the executive director of FIRC (who will be the recipient of the products brought to the event) and State Senator Faith Winters, sponsor of legislation to provide menstrual products in our schools.  Brianne Snowwill speak about Summit County issues.  FIRC stocks menstrual products so they are readily available for all who use their food banks).
The program is free, but please consider bringing tampons or pads which we’ll donate to the Community Care Clinic’s School Based Health Centers.
